Provisioning the good ship Ora

We are renting the Ora, which I’m told the team had last year. They are already familiar with it, which is cool. We drove into town on the Dutch side and bought provisions at the Grande Marche. I hear Presidente, the sponsor is hooking us up with cerveza.

Some of us are going to either the beach or the hotel pool for the afternoon. Then we’ll find a nice dinner somewhere close.

Flying to St. Maarten

Most of us are meeting up on a layover in Charlotte. I had to get up at 5:15 to make a 7:10 flight from National. I am not a morning person, but I got the ticket for free with miles.

The Course

The blue dots show where the races begin and end.  In this map, Florida is to the top left, Cuba is to the left, Haiti and Puerto Rico are in the middle, and South America is below.
